Artist Statement
"I
collage many materials on an old shirt or sheet intuitively as
compared with my experience as a weaver who has to design and measure
yarn in advance. I also use Japanese natural lacquer called URUSHI
mixed with all natural materials to recreate an old cutting board or
wood bowl. They were supposed to be thrown away. There is not any
useless thing, everything has another role after being worn out.
Now, I enjoy finding many colors and materials together I didn’t
notice so far."
