Grandfather and father were famous sculptors; mother, a professional portrait artist.
Received degree in Engineering; worked as hydraulics/vehicle engineer, logging camp timekeeper and fireman in ships' boiler room.
Made jewelry, toys and whimsical sculptures out of found objects and wire.
